So Much SCUBA diving gear

SCUBA diving gear adapts the user the underwater world. Your SCUBA diving gear allows you to dive. Without your mask, regulator or wetsuit, you would not be able to see, breathe or stay warm.

The SCUBA diving gear that you use depends on where you will be diving. There are four categories of SCUBA dive gear: Tropical SCUBA equipment, Temperate SCUBA equipment, Cold Water SCUBA equipment and Tec diving scuba equipment. Tropical SCUBA diving gear is used for diving in warm, clear water. Usually this means water that is 75 degrees or higher. Temperate SCUBA diving gear is used when diving in water with moderate temperatures. Cold water SCUBA diving gear is used when diving in water that is colder than 60 degrees. Lastly, Tec diving SCUBA equipment is used by the experienced diver who is trained to dive in environments beyond those of recreational diving. However, some SCUBA diving gear can be cross used. For example, a mask used for diving in tropical waters can probably be used in temperate or cold water conditions.

Some commonly used SCUBA diving gear include the mask, exposure suit, snorkel and SCUBA unit. The SCUBA unit consists of a regulator, tank, and buoyancy control device. While your snorkel lets you breathe while at the waters surface and not use up air from your SCUBA unit, your exposure suit will help your body to retain heat and stay warm. In addition, this part of your SCUBA diving gear will also protect you from any possible scrapes or cuts.

There are many other components of SCUBA diving gear. For example, a dive watch is used to measure dive time and a dive light is used to dive at night. With so many options of SCUBA diving gear to purchase, one should consider safety first. Although that digital underwater camera will take great pictures, having a dive flag and float, which keeps boats away from your dive area, is of more importance.

When you do decide to purchase SCUBA diving gear, trying to save money by buying cheaper equipment, might end up costing you more in the long run.
