The best way to perform this exercise is through plyometric workouts. There are also a variety of exercises that you can do to improve the step jump. Here is how you should perform the step jump.

The box step jump is the most powerful workout that you can do. In this routine, you should find an elevated space and then move one meter away from that particular point. Step a single foot forward and ensure it reaches the longest distance. Perform the same action on the other foot and then jump on an elevated box or platform. This gives you an idea on how you are supposed to perform the step jump once you are at the arena or on the court. There are a variety of variations that are in line with step jump exercises. A good example of such is the medicinal ball. In this exercise, use the legs to balance since both hands are occupied. You can put on a weighted vest to exert more effort. The weighted vest will pull you down after jumping and this means you will exert more effort in your next jump.
