Air Jordans - Great Collectors Items
Retro Jordan sneakers are one of the most famous basketball shoes of all time. They have been around since the mid 80’s and were first created by Peter Moore specifically for Michael Jordan. A new style is released every year, and at this point there are 26. After the Air Jordan XXV (25), Nike decided to call the 26th pair the Air Jordan 2010’s. Many Jordan sneaker collectors have fallen off the grid as they only prefer to collect the Originals (also know as OG’s) as opposed to buying the re-releases (also known as Retro’s). Die hard collectors that are still in the “shoe game” nowadays stay on top of all the new Jordan release dates. There are usually sneak peaks, and release information that is dropped ahead of time that gives you an idea of the day the shoes will be in stores. You can also find out how much they will cost before they are available. For those that hung on to their Original Air Jordans from the 1980s and mid 1990s, they are sitting on a fortune. Some collectors have sold their collections on auction sites for what others pay for a 5 bedroom house! Jordans shoes are considered collectors items to some, and works of art to others. Depending on how old the shoe is, some are willing to pay upwards of ten thousand dollars for one pair of authentic Air Jordan sneakers. These shoes are over 25 years old and can not be worn, but they are kept with the utmost care, similar to how others treat their baseball card collections from childhood.
